Because of problems with the login server, you have until tomorrow (wed) to hand in the program of HW7; for the programming answers, email me the hardcopy or drop it off in my mailbox, or slide it under my door. (Tues, 3/6)
This should clarify forming the solution to a linear system - there are 2 methods; both are in the book, but I don't think the slides make this clear (at least not to me). (Fri. 2/24)
I've updated HW6 to consistently refer to the executable as 'integrate'. (Wed, 2/15).
I've updated problem #1 of the homework (Wed. 2/8, 1:07p)
Homework #5 has been posted. (Wed., 2/8)
I've posted answers to the homeworks as links off the homework assignments. (Wed, 2/1).
One level of Richardson extrapolation is easily implemented use slide #20 of the Differentiation lecture using a couple of calls to a central difference routine. (Tuesday, 1/31).
Note that in Homework #4 for Richardson extrapolation, you only have to implement one level (difference of central differences). I mentioned this in class and I just put a note about this on the homework assignment web page. (Sun., 1/29)

When you submit the program assignment, make sure you follow the instruction on what to submit and the naming connventions.
Submit files so that the grader can go to your submit directory and, for example, issue 'make' followed by 'hw1' (or whatever the assignment instructions specify). (Sun, 12:00n; modified Thur, 1/12)
I've reorganized the directories for homeworks. The links from the schedule now point to the new directory but if you have a direct link to the Homework #1 assignment you'll have to change it from

If you're trying to add the class and have been coming to class, then email the grader the grader your hw1.c and Makefile files for this assignment. (Sat. 10:00a).
NOTE: anytime you issue 'submit' to an assignment, everything you previously submitted for that assignment is wiped out. That is, you cannot incrementally submit an assignment! Under Unix, you can do a 'man submit' (man is short for 'manual') to get more information about the submit command. (Sat. 9:50a)
