Data Input for the COMPH IS

We are able to automatically generate the Tables required in an NIH training grant (TG) from the various fields in the COMPH IS. The IS was originally designed to support functions other than the generation of these NIH Tables. Below we specify, with respect to the input SwitchBoard for the COMPH IS, which fields must be populated in order to generate the NIH TG Tables.

• For each current or postdoctoral students associated with the TG or associated with any faculty member associated with the TG, using the 'Student Input' button on the SwitchBoard, traverse to all the student input forms, labeled as tabs across the top of the screen.
  • Personal Info tab: all fields in the DegreeGrantingUnits subscreen.
  • GeneralProfessionalInfo tab: all fields in the DegreesReceived subscreen.
  • In the Preadmission tab: in the PreAdmissions subystem, fields InterviewDate, Acceptance, Ethnicity, USCitizen, USPermResidenct, and Admit Date and all fields in the GRE, GPA, MCAT and Support subscreens.
  • In the Candidacy/PhD tab: all fields in the AcademicAdvisor and, as appropriate all fields in the CandidacyExam, StudentTG, ResidencyMatch, Masters, Publications and FinalDefense subscreens.
  • In the Alum tab: all fields in the PostDoc, PublicationsAlum, Employment and PostDocTG subscreens.
• For each faculty associated with the TG and foreach faculty in the COMPH that has any grant support, using the 'Faculty Input' button on the SwitchBoard, traverse to all faculty input forms, labeled as tabs across the top of the screen.
  • In the PersonalInfo tab: all fields in the DegreeGrantingUnits subscreen.
  • In the ResearchInfo tab: fields Title, ResearchInterests, Keywords and all fields in the DegreesReceived and Publicatons subscreens.
  • In the Grants tab: all fields in all subscreens.
  • In the SeminarPresentations tab: all fields.
• For each current Training Grant in the COMPH, using the 'TrainingGrants' button on the SwitchBoard, traverse to the training grant screen and fill in all fields (the GrantNumber field may be left blank until it is known).
• Using the 'FacultyRecruits' button on the SwitchBoard traverse to the faculty recruits screen and fill in all fields for each COMPH degree-granting unit.
