COMPH INFORMATION SYSTEM REPORTS
Introduction
This page contains instructions for generating reports
pertaining to the College of Medicine
and Public Health (COMPH) Information System.
The reports are divided into two types based on the
information they provide:
- Training
Grant Reports
- COMPH Reports
(Faculty and Student)
Software
These reports are generated using Microsoft Access and
Microsoft Excel. Switchboard-type interfaces have been created on the front-end
to assist the user in generating these reports.
Report Generation
It is assumed that the relevant data was entered into the
system before generating the reports. Please contact the data-entry personnel
if you have any questions.
The report generation is discussed separately for the two
kinds of reports.
Generating Training Grant Reports
- Double-Click on the TrainingGrantReports icon on
the desktop. Click Enable Macros in the pop-up window that appears next.
This opens a switchboard in Excel containing the names of all the reports
that can be generated.
- Select the appropriate report from the switchboard.
This opens a new window containing the selected report.
- Click
on Sheet1 at the bottom of the new window.
- Click
on RefreshAll icon (Figure 1) at the top of the window. This action will
run a query and retrieve the appropriate results from the database.
- Click the GenerateReport button to generate the
report. You might have to scroll the window up-down or left-right in order
to locate this button.
- Click
on Print icon

at the top of the window to print the report.
- Close all the windows and return to desktop.
Generating COMPH People Reports
- Double-Click on the COMPH icon on the desktop. This
opens a switchboard (Figure 3) in Access containing
several choices.
- Click on the Reports button. This opens a new
window (Figure 4).
- For generating the Faculty report select the
appropriate faculty name from the first pull-down menu (Figure
5). Similarly, for generating the Student report select the
appropriate student name from the second pull-down menu. For generating
the Selected Applicants Report select all the required students from the
last menu and click the AddStudents button (Figure 6).
- Close all the windows and return to desktop.
- Double-Click on the COMPHReports icon on the
desktop. Click Enable Macros in the pop-up window that appears next. This
opens a switchboard in Excel containing the names of all the reports that
can be generated.
- Select the appropriate report from the switchboard.
This opens a new window containing the selected report.
- Click
