Recently, Dr. James Davis was interviewed, along with other experts, concerning the current advances in surveillance technology and detection The Economist newspaper. The article discusses Davis's research into tracking individuals behaving suspiciously. A copy made read here.

This is not the first brush with media attention for Jim Davis. In May of 2007, his research was highlighted on the PBS show Frontline in their episode "Spying on the Home Front." The Columbus network affiliates have also covered his work as well various OSU journals. Davis joined CSE in 2000 after receiving his PhD from MIT where he was involved with the Vision and Modeling Group, part of the Media Lab. During his time with MIT, he also worked with Walt Disney Imagineering.

The Economist newspaper was established in 1843. It continues to maintain its identity as a newspaper "because, in addition to offering analysis and opinion, it tries in each issue to cover the main events -business and political- of the week. It goes to press on Thursdays and, printed simultaneously in six countries, is available in most of the world's main cities the following day or soon after." The articles are all anonymous primarily because the belief in keeping the information the focus rather than the writer.
