New Alum Gains ACM Recognition

Marcella Tanzil (WI '05) was selected for an Honorable Mention for the Computing Research Association's Outstanding Undergraduate Award 2006, sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs. This is the first time an OSU-CSE student has received this very prestigious notice. It is a highly competitive award recognizing undergraduate students in US or Canadian universities/colleges who show outstanding research potential in an area of computing research while also maintain an exceptional academic record and participating in service to the community.

Ms. Tanzil is a brand new graduate of The Ohio State University receiving her CSE degree Autumn 2005. Originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, Marcella is applying to graduate school programs and intends to continue her academic career. While at OSU, she was very active in ACM-W and TWICE (The Women In Computer Engineering Collaborative for Applied Software Technology).

The Department wishes Marcella good luck and is certain we will hear great things from her in the future.
