Venu Satuluri (CSE PhD'12), a Senior Software Engineer in the Search & Relevance area of Twitter, has led the team creating a new recommendation feature for your Twitter feed, and the Internet media has taken notice. Based on the results from the account @MagicRecs, this new tweak informs the user when multiple people in their network follow the same user, or when they favorite or retweet the same tweet. This gives the user a chance to expand her/his network by learning about news quickly and what other users find interesting. This feature will be particularly valuable to the newer users whom Twitter depends on for growth.
