CSE 3430: Homework Guide
- Homework assignments and labs will have the weights
specified in the respective homeworks or labs.
- Homeworks and labs are to be done independently.
General discussion of assignments with others in the class is allowed and
should, as a rule, take place on Piazza;
but when it comes time to do the work, make it your own. Homeworks or labs
which show an excessive amount of similarity will be taken as
evidence of cheating and dealt with accordingly.
- Late homeworks. Homeworks
are to be handed in at the beginning or at the end of the class in
which they are due (if you come to the class late, please give me your
homework at the end of the class, not during the class.
If you don't turn in the homework on the day it is due, you may turn
it in to me until the start of the next class (late penalty will
be typically 20%).
- Make them readable. They are to be handed in
on regular paper, neatly written or typed (or printed). If it is on
more than one sheet, put your name on each sheet and staple the
sheets together. If the grader has trouble
reading or understanding what you've done, the grader will deduct
points even if it can finally be determined that you've got the
correct answer.
- Lab submissions: Labs must be submitted
according to the instructions specified in the particular lab. Late lab
submissions will incur penalty as specified in the labs.
