Objectives
- Learn more about a single topic that most interests you.
The following topics are game:
- Sampling pattern generators
- BRDFs
- Integrators
- Special effects
- Choose two data sets that show off the work.
One of the datasets that you may choose is the one in Figure 1.7
- Either stress pbrt and see how to extend it.
The emphasis is not writing a lot of new code.
- Complete ONE of the tasks.
Getting Started
Choose ONE of the tasks and read:
- relevant chapters in the text,
- any papers that are mentioned in the tasks.

Problem 7.1.
Choose two scenes to demonstrate your methods.
- Microfacets BRDFs
Problem 9.3.
You are not required to complete the very last part of the problem; showing off the various effects of masking, self-shadowing and interreflection!
You are encouraged to compare with at least 2 micorfacet BRDF models.
NOTE: This lab requires long rendering times so plan accordingly.
- Caustics
Problem 16.12.
Choose two scenes to illustrate the efficacy of your techniques.

- Make a webpage demonstrating your techniques
- Include images, source code, and written answers to any part required in the problem.
- Email the grader the link to your webpage.
