CSE Undergraduate Forum Evaluation
An open undergraduate forum is held each
year to discuss all aspects of the CSE and CIS programs. Reports
on these forums are
available. Following each forum, the
Undergraduate Studies Committee discusses the main ideas/points
expressed at the forum and tries to identify potential problems and
possible improvements to solve them. This page (itself created
following the discussion
of the Feb. 2011 forum) is intended to summarize these problems/
improvements.
- The 2011 forum was held on
Feb. 3, 2011. The forum was discussed at the Undergraduate Studies
Comm. meeting on Feb. 8. The following issues and possible ways of
addressing them were discussed:
- 221-sequence problem, change in faq?
- 551
- Advising for semester transition; gp. advising for separate groups
(freshmen, sophomores, etc.) before individual advising; start in
spring.
- (More an opportunity than a problem): Several students seem interested
in accreditation-related issues; we should try to find good ways to make
effective use of this interest.
