BS CSE Program: Accreditation Evaluation

(This page is currently under construction; it should be ready in a few days.)

Purpose: This page presents various on-line documents relevant to the accreditation evaluation of the BS-CSE programs. We hope it will be of some use to members of the accreditation evaluation team prior to and during the site visit (scheduled for Oct. 30 - Nov. 1); it should also be of use to members of the department.

Terminology: In this page, as in other pages in this site, the term program educational objectives is used, as per EAC guidelines, to mean statements that describe the accomplishments that the program is preparing graduates to achieve in the years following graduation; the term program outcomes is used to mean statements that describe what students are expected to know or be able to do by the time of graduation.

For each of the categories in the CAC Criteria and the EAC Criteria, we consider the various requirements listed in both sets of criteria and provide links to materials that address those requirements. In some cases, we note that all of the information is already in the self-study documents.

1. Students:

  1. The program must evaluate student performance, advise students regarding program requirements, and curricular & career matters; and monitor student progress to foster success in achieving program outcomes.
  2. Must have and enforce policies for the acceptance of transfer students/transfer credits.
  3. Must have and enforce procedures to assure that all students meet all program requirements.
  4. Courses must be offered with sufficient frequency.
  5. Students must have ample opportunity to interact with instructors.
