Outline of Main Page on Objectives, Outcomes, Assessments, Feedback, etc.

The main page is organized as a collection of links to individual documents, each devoted to one particular item.

Section A points to the EAC and CAC accreditation criteria that will be applicable when we are (re-)evaluated by EAC and CAC in Autumn '05. There are also (unofficial) summaries of the criteria. Both sets of criteria list specific requirements with respect to program objectives, outcomes, program assessments, and documentation of program improvements based on the results of the assessments. Section A also contains links to the EAC self-study questionnaire and the CAC supplemental questionnaire.

Section B contains links to the official published set of objectives and outcomes of the program; the processes used for determining, evaluating, and periodically revising the objectives and outcomes as needed; and the relation of the various parts of the curriculum to the program's outcomes as well as to the EAC Crtierion 3 outcomes.

The first link in Section C is to the official on-line brochure for the program. Next is a link to a page that contains links to the syllabi of all required and most elective CSE courses; this page also contains links to syllabi of CSE courses required by other engineering programs. The official syllabi of all CSE courses may be accessed from the "Courses" link in the department's home page.

Next is a link to a page that concers our capstone design courses. These courses play an important role in the program and we have defined specific requirements that these courses must meet. This page contains pointers to those requirements as well as documentation of our on-going evaluation of the individual courses against the requirements. Next is a link to the syllabi of ECE courses that BS-CSE students are required to take. Following that is a link to the syllabi of other (non-CSE, non-ECE) engineering courses that BS-CSE students are required to take. Next is a link to a page that provides the syllabi of math and statistics courses that BS-CSE students are required to take. Next is a link to a page that points to syllabi of the various science courses that BS-CSE students are required to take. The last item in this section is a link to a page concerning the two writing courses that BS-CSE students take. Note that in all cases, the tables in the page pointed to by item (B.3) summarize how these courses contribute to the program's outcomes and to Criterion 3 outcomes.

The first link in Section D is to a page that contains a detailed summary of the various assessment instruments we use for assessing the program, the processes used, as well as recent program improvements based on the results of our assessments. The next several links in this section are to pages that contain detailed results of the individual assessment mechanisms. The last link points to a page that describes Course Group Reports (CGRs). This is a key feedback and documentation mechanism that allows us to identify program improvements, relate them to assessment results, and provide documentation of how the program has evolved and the rationale behind the evolution.

Sections E and F contains links to a few pages describing some recent program improvements and some improvements that are in the pipeline. Section G points to various reports dealing with preparing for the Autumn 2005 accreditation evaluation.
