A number of changes in the general education curriculum (GEC) required of all engineering majors has been proposed by the college. The proposal is currently at the university Council on Academic Affairs for its decision.

If all of the changes in this proposal are approved, the net effect will be a reduction in the number of GEC hours required by the college for all engineering students. This will then provide some additional room in the 45 hours of general education hours for BS CSE majors, which could be used for a business course.
