The department takes a proactive interest in enhancing diversity. The details of various diversity-enhancing activities are described in the department's web page dedicated to this issue.
Many of these activities are relatively new. Additional activities, including attempts to recruit women who are currently high school seniors to consider joining one of the undergraduate programs in the department are in the planning stages.
