3 Current Research Interests

Methods for the approximation analysis of combinatorial scientific computing applications.

Bioinformatic applications for behavior monitoring and prediction in protein interaction networks.

5 Background

Dr. Jones currently teaches courses covering a variety of topics for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University -- including discrete mathematics, algorithmic analysis, information security and parallel computing. He has been nominated twice for the Provost's Award for outstanding teaching by a lecturer and serves as a faculty advisor for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in undergraduate research.

Dr. Jones was previously President of Great Northern Consulting Services, Inc., as well as a consultant for Sun Microsystems, having begun his professional career as a software developer for AT&T Bell Labs/Network Systems.

He earned his bachelor's degree summa cum laude in Computer Science from Ohio University, his master's degree in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ohio University.
