Roni Yagel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at The Ohio State University and the head of the Volume Graphics Research Group. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) and the Biomedical Engineering Center.

He received his PhD in 1991 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he was also a researcher in the Department of Anatomy and the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. He received his B.Sc. Cum Laude and M.Sc. Cum Laude from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, in 1986 and 1987, respectively.


His research and technical publications deal with both hardware and software aspects of volume rendering. His research interests also include algorithms for voxel-based graphics, imaging, and animation, three dimensional user interfaces, and visualization tools for biomedical applications.


He is teaching


He is currently serving as Papers Chair for Visualization'97 and the Newsletter Editor of the IEEE Technical Committee on Computer Graphics.
